GULPDOWN was formed in summer 2005. Mick, Jay, Holly and Wellery wanted to revive the sound of good old rock 'n roll. The early rehearsals were in a garage, with just one amplifier and about half a set of drums. It didn't sound right somehow. It needed a second guitar so the guys set out to find one, and it wasn't easy. Finally, they wound up with Leo the Greek. In that formation, the band finally started to take off. Some new equipment was scratched together, songs were written and the band was booked for its first gigs. 2007 brought some more changes for the group. Mick and Leo left and Jimmy Button, Mick's younger brother, took over the microphone. He's a maniac rock 'n roller who knows how to get the crowd all steamed up. Leo's replacement was more difficult to find. Eventually, along came Kev Diet who used to play guitar for the Dizzies. His experience with other bands is good for the group, and he sure knows how to make the guitar strings glow! Apart from those changes, 2007 also brought the first booking for a major concert. On March 1, 2008 the GULPDOWN guys will be supporting THE SWEET, England's first glam-rock band from the seventies. So now the line-up is sorted out and the style is clear - GLAM N' SLEAZE ROCK, made in Switzerland!! For five ambitious guys with a great sound, the future has already begun. And they intend to climb to the top...
